I am having an upper GI endoscopy done on Tuesday. Can my husband sit through the procedure with me. I am scared to death and I told him I want in in there with me. I don't want to have it done without him in there.

Husband can come to the check in with you. But in the procedure room only Medical Employees. You will be sedated. The Team of people taking care of you specialize in making sure your taken care of. They also do understand nervousness. You'll be in good care. You'll wake up and say "when do we start?"

They typically don't have non medical people there. It is very simple procedure and they medicate you so you won't recall the procedure. I've been with Digestive Health Specialists as a patient for 20 years. They are very good. I've had two endoscopy procedures with my third scheduled for later this month in addition to my 12th colonoscopy. I have never had a problem. Information is empowering, do some more research with reputable sources.
