I reserved a time to tour an available unit for 2:30pm on 7/22. I arrived at 2:25pm and followed instructions on the call box. There was no answer. I waited 5 minutes and tried again…no answer. I tried one last time at 2:45pm and still no answer. Looks like I dodged a bullet if they’re already unreliable and absent before I even have a chance to rent from them. Apparently I should have believed the negative reviews.

I like leaving good reviews but would like to give people some information. It was my first time living in an apartment so I'm not sure if this is what apartments usually do but it seems like "refundable" deposit is not refundable... When I first moved in, I had to pay non-refundable deposit (probably a few hundred dollars per pet) and refundable deposit for $200-250ish. When I moved out, I was charged for carpet cleaning and some apartment cleaning which cost $200-250. I cleaned up the whole place so asked the management how this happened. They said in accordance with health dep law, they must professionally clean the place. Then why do you charge "deposit" instead of fee from the beginning... I spent hours to clean up the place thinking I was able to get the deposit back 😭 Overall experience wasn't bad. I like the location since there's a local grocery store and a nice park in walking distance. I like the amenities but due to Covid, I wasn't able to enjoy them much.

Love the 245Met community; I have good neighbors and the atmosphere of the building is pretty chill. It manages to have a big city feel with plenty amenities at an affordable price for a newer building. Thick walls make for good neighbors too. The utility management is also so convenient, whether easy auto-billing for water or the "I never knew I was missing this from my life" trash valet. Walking distance from grocery, bookstore, pub, and nightlife! Only the out of order hot tub and elevator wait times remind me I am not dreaming. Occasional hiccups made up for by staff at the office.

If i could rate no stars, i would. All of the 5 star reviews on here are literally just because there is a raffle for a $50 amazon gift card if you post a review, screenshot it, and email it to management. I believe this is just to boost their ratings on here since no one will send them a screenshot of a poor review. the initial moving in experience was stressful due to shady communication and unexplained fees. There was an extra $200 that wasn't communicated when pursing the move in process and was never explained in a way that actually made sense in the end. Management just talks in circle. I eventually gave up and just figured out that last chunk because I needed a quick move. Over the first couple of months while being here, there were $100 worth of fees coming up every month that I didn't fully understand when moving in and signing the lease. I originally thought that it could have been due to me just not understanding fully what had been explained to me. After hearing stories from other residents, i quickly realized that i am not alone when it comes to there being a bunch of fees that you are not made aware of until your first month is up and it shows in your account when paying rent. Overall, interaction with management feels touch and go. i try really hard to be understanding of their responsibilities and the obstacles that come up when managing 2 whole buildings full of people, most with more than 1 person per apartment. However, i know that the resident stories I have heard are just the tip of the iceberg. It seems to be that before Avenue 5 took on this building, this was a great place to live and the issues we all have been dealing with now were never a problem before. It also really feels like you are being gaslit when reading emails from management that are sent building wide. All-in-all, if you are fairly financially stable and need a quick move- this place would be affordable and easily accessible. If you're in a bind and need to move now- don't do it. it'll basically feel like entrapment
