No, ours has been the same amount, charged every 2 months for the 20+ years we've had their service. They always send a letter advising customers of rate increases. If your bill is higher, you probably ignored the rules - lid not closed or overweight. You can't expect those who do it right to pay for your foibles. And no, I don't work for Murrey's!

Yes. I arranged for 1 time/month pick up for $32. If I pay later than the 1st every month, why is my bill $180??
Air filters did not in the 32 oz cans they required years ago, so we got charged extra even if we did not fill up our garbage can. That’s when we decided to take our own trash to the dump. It was about $40 dollars back then per month for Murray and $22 at the dump.
