You can walk in the office at FHN Mon,Tues 9am-4pm, Wed 12pm-6pm, & Thurs-Fri 9am-4pm and talk to a case manager about being set up w coordinated entry for help w housing. You must be actively homeless, meaning living in your car or outside in order to get help w housing. They can put you in a priority pool based on your situation. They only see 3 families a day for case management so the earlier you get there the better. They also have a day center that allows homeless families access to showers, laundry, and essential hygiene items for FREE. There is a fully functional and stocked kitchen available for use if you want to cook yourself a meal. Free snacks. There are also 2 computers that you can use for searching for jobs and housing only. They have tons of employment opportunities that you can learn about through them as well. The staff is wonderful and helpful. This place is amazing and a godsend! I go there almost daily to utilize day center and refer people there all the time.
If you have shelter and jobs where you are I'd think twice before moving. I know dozens of families living in their cars or tents. Many have been waiting for housing for months. Seattle has started funneling their homeless down to Tacoma so there are far more homeless families than resources.
When you are local call 211 and they can set you up with an appointment at FHN. Not sure what they can help with but an appointment is where to start.
