Can anyone tell me how does it work? I have some furniture and fitness equipment i need to get rid of so it will take atleast 5-6 trips for me.

If you're making that many trips I would suggest you rent a small U-Haul box truck and dump it all in one run. They weigh your vehicle on the way in and out and you pay by the difference. There is a minimum fee that you pay to drive-in each time and then after 400 lb you pay by the ton. So a single run will likely be more efficient for you time and cost wise even with the rental truck.
