We recently installed a companion marker for our parents graves and are wondering if you can recycle the single bronze marker that was there for when it was a single grave. We have separated the bronze marker from the concrete base it was on.

Heidi - We can absolutely help you with that. The state law (RCW 19.290) requires you to provide written documentation that you are the owner of the marker. In this circumstance, we prefer to see a receipt for the marker, as well as a note from the cemetery authorizing the sale of the marker. I know that seems like a lot of hoops, but the law is meant to deter theft of grave markers, which can be an issue. Please don't hesitate to call in and ask for Ryan if you have further questions.
