The Veterans Service Organizations on the 10th floor at the Jackson Federal Building are the most non-caring, rude bunch I have had the misfortune of dealing with, they don't care about Veterans at all, probably because they got their rating and jobs using other people and now that they're in a position to help others they won't, don't waste your time coming here if you're a Vet, and yes especially you American Legion, USELESS!!!

For every good thing I could say about the VA, they screw up four or five times. I have med which I can die without. The past five times I have needed it refilled, something has gone wrong. I have been waiting weeks for it, only to find (with one pill left, that it is on hold over thirty miles away. I now have to drive completely through the eleventh largest metro area in America to pick it up, again. Not that they care. Their jobs are plush and secure. Thanks again, VA.

Closed community clinics and didn't even bother to contact the veterans about transferring any type of primary care or mental health. VA just called me today about a consult ordered in MARCH and it's now mid-July, to schedule me for 6 months down the road. Absolute joke of an organization. If you support veterans, support dismantling the VA and making the VA into an "insurance company" rather than a bureaucratic healthcare-denying organization that it currently is. If you can't take care of veterans then don't bother starting any more wars. Gross mismanagement!

The Patient Advocate will be in the main VA medical center. Find the number on va.gov
I recommend you talk to a veterans organization first about it before you make a trip. I recommend the DAV. They have helped me immensely. They are free and in the same building. They have access and connections.
Your doctor is the one who puts in the referral. Did he say why they can't? Is he an actual Dr.?
Call the Va hospital in seattle. They can answer all your questions regarding it.

They may be available from the office on the first floor. You can also go to one of the VSOs on the 10th floor for assistance.
Based off your duty position, chances are you flew out of Thailand. However you probably landed at different bases in Vietnam. Dd-214 would not indicate that. What you will need is log books or some other type of info such yearly evals, ie apr/epr indicating your activity in SouthEast Asia
