I just adopted a dog from this shelter. The adoption fees run from 100-250. $250 is the maximum adoption fee. Comes with microchip/rabies vaccine/spayed or neutered, and a free vet visit. :)
I went there (Kent) thinking maybe $100 to $150 and saw an elderly Golden Retriver ( 12 yrs old) and just wanted to make her last year's comfortable and awesome with lots of love and attention then they said $250. and I about fell over ! I said really ? Wow , do you have a fund for people that really want an obviously older dog so they can afford to do it and she said no but $250. was cheap for pets nowadays ! She was found wandering in New Mexico and was transferred up from that shelter cuz there was no room for her and so her bills were high and they needed to recoup. Then she said if I don't get her in the next 3 days she'll be euthanized !!!! Then I said then just give her to me on the 3rd day and I'll give her a great home with my other elderly Golden and she said no we have no policy for that !! WTF ? Too weird so I left sad and wishing I could have afforded her . I no way thought animals abandoned at a shelter would be so costly ! Ridiculous since its ran with our taxes !!
And you also have a few months after you take the dog home to bring it back if it turns out you're not a good fit and you can get all the money back.
That depends on the type of dog you want to adopt. It can range anywhere from one hundred to five hundred if its a pup or a older dog.
I think it runs about $100. You do get a free veterinarian check up as a perk though
How awful to euthanize a dog you would have taken in and given a good home in her last days. I thought it was a no kill shelter !!
