That's true, Paine (PAE) Field in Everett is the closest but not a lot of flights go in and out of there, just a few. For the major airlines Sea-Tac (SEA) Airport would be the next nearest and there is a "Whidbey Shuttle" that brings people up to the island, but best probably to rent a car since we don't have Uber on island. There is a couple of small taxi services on island and the bus service is free, but the island is long and timing your need to catch a ride vs. what is available can be tough.
