Hour tops. But the Museum of Pop Culture, Space Needle & Science Centre are all nearby. If you're visiting Seattle, try to give yourself enough time to see them all.
If you want to really enjoy the glass, take pictures (it's really stunning) and generally enjoy a well designed museum give yourself 2 hours. Plus the Collections Cafe has great Food and cool collections!

I spent 2 hours at space needle alone, but took about 45 mins just to get in
Depends how crowded and if yoh try to het pictures without a lot of people in frame .. But 45 minutes will usually get your through both inside and outside
An hour is definitely a reasonable amount of time to spend there.
