A few of us want to come and see the bats at the new Franklin Bridge next Tuesday 25th. We will kayak to the Bridge. Can you tell me how any tides or currents may affect our visit as it looks, on the map, like we need to go onto the Mokelumne River.

The Preserve closes at 5:00, so unless you are paddling with an approved group you cannot use their dock. REI is hosting three more bat paddles this season.

From the launch, if the tide is out it can be a couple shallow spots. No problem with a paddle kayak. With a peddle kayak you will have to pull the drive out a couple times. You will have no problems. Enjoy. Matt
