Can visitors have access to the Fort itself? They say the park is open, but does that include the Fort. How can we get access?

The ferry is closed due to hurricane damage to the docks! There is no other way to get to the fort. We were told that the repairs have been approved just waiting on the contractor to do repairs.

I was there about a month ago. There has been hurricane damage to the pier. No ferry across the water, and no access to the fort. Visitors center is open.

The ferry was closed last time I was there and there is no access to the fort without the ferry.
