I'm confused. Do you have to enter the park (and pay $15/person) to get to the fort? Or can you go to the fort for free (bypassing the park)? Thx

The tour is free, gift shop is not.. you get your tickets from the gift shop attendant. And wait for the park ranger to open the gate they have certain times for the tours which are indicated at the the gift shop. Its a ferry ride to the fort and back.. its a great experience but be careful not to bump your head or drop your phone.

It's free. You should talk to the park ranger, and they'll give them to you, depending on the free seats they have for the next ferry.

Apparently my question was not clear. To get to the free ferry and free fort, do you have to pay to get into the park first? Thx
