If you ask they will help you otherwise it depends on how your insurance works and what they need to do
If you cannot pay, ask to speak to a social or case worker about getting assistance. They can even help you apply for Medicaid. If you have insurance and feel you've been billed unfairly, you can appeal through your insurance, or contact the New Mexico Ombudsman's office.
