I plan on going here this weekend d to do some fishing, and I'll be bringing my dog along. Do I need to be worried about this blue-green algae that I've been hearing so much about?

I wouldn't worry. We walked all through the water. It's crystal clear and flows nicely. If you plan on fishing I would suggest to carry lightly, especially if you're going towards the falls. Lots of walking. When we fished we just brought our light poles and a fanny pack of a few jigs.

No not at all. The water flows really well at the falls part. But in the standing water I really wouldn't trust that part. We just go for the hiking and then cooling off in the falls. The water is ice cold.

Yeah I just have a small draw string back pack and a medium rod. Not sure if I'll bring the dog since my ol lady is a huge worrier and freaked out about the algae thing. Oh well, he woulda enjoyed it. I'll bring him late October.
