You have to have a reservation. Check on line for availability. The number is always busy. The internet answers all your questions.
You'll want to make a reservation for both camping and day passes. They only let in so many people a day. Weekends in the fall it's a requirement
For camping maybe? We only saw two areas to set up camp. But if you do arrive after hours you can stay and pay in the morning

You would need to call and make a reservation. As soon as they have a certain number of reservations ...they close it down.
