Beautiful day today at Oso Bay Wetlands. When you're out walking remember to look up, especially the tops of the high wire poles. I'm not sure if they are ospreys, or hawks. But they appear to be coupling up, I saw two poles that had two birds each on top of them. But we're so far away and elevated and made it hard for me to identify them. All in all fun day, good exercise, fresh air, and sunshine. A cell phone camera doesn't quite capture the distance that's needed to take great pictures there.

A nice place to spend the morning, walking the hiking trails. The trails are well maintained. Which made it easy to bring a stroller.

Yes there used to be a train track that crossed Oso Bay. The current Holly Hike & Bike trail is on the old rail bed as acts as one border of the Preserve. The crossbeams and rails were mostly washed away during Hurricane Harvey, but the pilings are still in place. Officially the Hike & Bike trail and area near the railroad bridge are not within the Preserve itself, but also part of the City's Parks & Recreation department.

We do not have a pier or good water access. The Preserve is not a good fishing spot due to access issues. Rules within the Preserve boundary also do not allow fishing.
I was going to say free but the question's already been answered. I will say be careful out there, we walked one of the trails a couple of months ago and saw a 4' rattlesnake that was just off the path where the mowed part ends sunning itself partially hidden in the brush. Cool for us to see but would probably scare the beejesus out of most.
