Stopped here April 2022 while driving around Hill Country. What a treat! The birding was pretty nice, at least for me. Got to see 6 species I've never seen before. I found the park clean, and well maintained, though the cost was a bit higher than I expected but having a park host is very important. Also, there were no public toilets. Perhaps this was a leftover Coronavirus policy or they wait until it gets busier. I parked near the entrance and walked the trails for 2.5 hours. I did go visit Pedernales State Park during this trip and it was lovely as well but for the area, this is a nice little gem.

The people who ran this place used to follow visitors home once they left. Personally witnessed it on multiple occasions. Not worth the price of admission.

We were there in the evening , they came around and told us to leave because they close on sunset. We told them that on this website it says the park closes at 8:00 pm... they gave us a few minutes, this site needs to update...that they open sunrise to sunset
