Are there secluded nature places to put up a tent near the river and just sit by a fire? Or are all the camp grounds compacted?

The creek is about 3 feet wide where you camp. And a bit wooded, but most sites should have access to the creek. This is our go to thanksgiving state park. Kruez's, blacks, and smittys! Also, beware white ash oak asps!

The park is a smaller park and all the designated camping is in the same area. You won't get much seclusion but in the off times you may have only one neighbor.

There are tent camping areas on creek bank and this is not a very crowded park.Bastrop and Buescher have nice creekside and lakeside tent camping and are not very cramped up.
