Had a great time with the family. All park rangers were nice. Cute trail for kids that has a story book as you walk through. Very quiet. Definitely will go back.

Lovely, well kept little rv campground. Full hook ups, good price, great value. Bathroom has a hot shower. Hiking trails were great with the kids. My Verizon signal was almost nonexistent, scraped by. We’d go back for sure! Lockhart is a great little town!!

Everytime I think we find our favorite state park, we find another one and fall in love!! This one is full of waterfalls and creekside trails. If you have kids, take part in the scavenger hunt bingo to add to their fun!

This was our 1st time here. Very unusual CCC park with a golf course, excellent day use picnic areas, well cared for camping sites, and great hiking along a scenic creek. Beautiful vegetation with brilliant yellow flowers.

The creek is about 3 feet wide where you camp. And a bit wooded, but most sites should have access to the creek. This is our go to thanksgiving state park. Kruez's, blacks, and smittys! Also, beware white ash oak asps!
Thought it was $5... we buy a park pass and get free admission for the year and discounts on camping.
No fishing license needed in any Texas state park
BBQ nearby! Chicken or smoked turkey are blacks, sausage at smittys, brisket at kreuzs.
Yes, and they have a grand old CCC lodge that is reservable
They do welcome volunteers but do not have a Friend's of the Lockhart St Park group. I volunteer there and we can always use help with the annual snipe hunt. Lauren Hartwick is the contact but right now she is on maternity leave.
Yes. My husband was fishing there last night. No liscense required. It is Creek so fish are not very big. It is fun fishing there.
Park entrance is $3 per adult (13 & over) plus a separate pool fee $2 per adult and $1 per child. So basically $5 per adult, $1 per child.
The office closes at 7pm, the pool closes at 6:45pm, and the park closes at 10pm.
Catfish, Sun Fish, Large-Mouth Bass.
The pool can not be rented for private parties. They do allow coolers, etc. so people have had their parties during regular pool hours.
To guarantee a spot, yes. But I noticed some people drove up and got spots while I was there. There were probably cancellations.
Yes. You can check the TPWD web page on how to make reservation at the park
Must reserve online to make sure sites are available. 10 with full electric, septic, and water Hookup, next to golf course. 10 sites have electricity and water, but dump station very close to the campsites.
Go up to the top of the hill. Good luck, have fun!!
They were a couple of weeks ago.
Only in swimming pool which is closed for yhe season. Fishing options had low water levels on 8/29/20.
You can catch sunfish, catfish and bass in Clear Fork Creek. They do loan fishing gear but you need a license to fish
Yes!
I think after mother day
Not that I know of...try the Texas state park website.
At office only
Entrance fee is $3.00 per person daily for 13 and older. All campsites have electricity, fire ring, grill, picnic table, and water. Fee is $20.00 Full hookup fee is $24.00, which in addition has sewer hookup and a covered picnic table. Restroom with shower are nearby.
After entering the park, there is a small one behind the playground/picnic area. The 2nd one is when you cross over a small bridge. The waterfall is off to your right. It's a popular place for pictures!! (About 10-15 min walk to the waterfall depending on where your campsite is).
He's probably referring to the blinds used to view birds. People don't hunt birds from blinds.
You will have to call the office for that specific information. It will depend on available space. Camp sites are booked in advance.
