The valley may be hard to book unless way in advance. It's always busy there. If you're coming from the South, Wawona/BigTrees Lodge is lovely. Cabins in Yosemite West or The Redwoods are good too. Outside the park to the South is the town of Fish Camp. I don't know what lodging might be available there. Just outside the park to the West are Mariposa and El Portal with some options. To the North, you can check out Rush Creek Lodge (brand new) or a multitude of VRBO/AirBnB between Groveland and the North gate. Yosemite Lakes has mini cabins, hook ups and camping.
Yosemite West has some nice cabins for rent, very close to Glacier Point
Plan on at least a one hour drive to any hotel from Glacier Point
They are all on the valley.. but I guess in wawona you can find something
Hillary gave some great pointers and I agree that Yosemite West is closest.... to rent a house. I also suggest Teneya lodge in Fish Camp just outside the park south entrance
The more advance you plan, closer you can stay. A travel distance of 50-60 miles can take 2 hours or more to reach to glacier point. Depends if you plan for a long weekend or on a weekday. Good luck
Yosemite west is the closest place to glacier point where you can find accommodations but they are mostly cabins or condos . No hotels in yosemite west as far as i know.
Yosemite West is closest.
We stayed Yosemite West, about 40 mins out
Yosemite Valley is the safe bet. You find a lot, but requires reservations most of the times. If you leave that, on highway 41, you have a lot of airbnb rooms to stay. Check them out.
