I went early (9.30am, it was busy but we got parking....those arriving as we left at 11.30am were all queued to get a space. Can't say it'll always be like that, just a personal experience. Enjoy.
Depends.... are you looking for views with your family and take some pics or are you looking to explore... you can never have enough time or the right moment to enjoy the park... The park will humble you.. so my suggestion... just relax... don't get in hurry or get caught up in "best time" .... count every breath and let the park come to you!!!
Sunset is a great time. There's a wonderful hue on the mountains as the sun sets behind you.
Aim for dawn if you can and watch the sunrise over the valley
Better to park the car in valley and take the guided tour to glacier point even though we can take the car to glacier point ideally on week days and not on week ends
I also was at point for sunset beautiful view .... and also think must be more seneric view during daylight
Best time to find parking: very early. Best time for photos without shadows: when sun is vertical (around noon). Best soft light for interesting photos: near sunset.
Anytime of day is fine even when clouds are patchy. You can thank the park service for such great visibility because they banned having campfires after 10am so that the air will be clearer during the rest of the day. I think that this is still their policy.
At around 2-3pm the view was amazing but slightly hazy. Average temperatures that day we're around 75 degrees Fahrenheit. I'm not sure what determines haze levels in that area but if you look it up online you can determine the best time at given weather conditions!
Mainly Google, and look at local weather forecasts, and make sure it won't be cloudy or hazy when you get there.
