Off road vehicles are definitely not permitted at Hole in the Wall or anywhere around it, as it is in the Mojave National Preserve. The Mojave Road goes through the preserve. At times, I have seen street legal 4- wheel drive vehicles, like Jeeps and trucks, stay overnight at Hole in the Wall campground as they make their way along the route. The closest OHV areas would be Dumont Dunes or Stoddard Valley between Lenwood Outlet Center Dr. and the 247.
Its all paved there. Must be street legal. Get out of the camp area and there are trails and powerline roads to explore.
