I just purchased a $10.00 item. I used the self check out by the bathrooms. I was going to use the restroom. The clerk seen me check out. She then wanted me to leave Mysmall item( plastic plumbing fitting) in a basket out side of the restroom. WHY?

In case another employee who did not see you purchase it sees you walk out of there with it. Not knowing whether or not you bought it now you've got to go through proving it with your receipt. Just makes it easier all around. It's sad that's the world we live in. But all the merchandise that walks out the doors is why we have to pay so much for a small piece of Plumbing!

Prevents shoplifting. But as you had paid was unnecessary. It is in most store policies and some people can't make the right exceptions without thinking they will get in trouble with management

Lowes is trying to keep merchandise out of the restrooms. It's a pain for you and them but unfortunately it has become the way of business. It keeps people from falsely saying you didn't pay.
