The first two are short, but they are for training purposes. The tour guides teach you about hand signals and how to brake. I found them very helpful since I'd never ziplined before. Once you get past these the rest of the lines are a blast. The tour guides are awesome.
Short yes, for training purposes. You are in control of breaking and how to break properly and these two first lines are for that. They increasingly get longer at which time you better have those first lessons down. They do a very good job walking people through and it really only takes 15 minutes or so. It's also a good group building time as you will be with the same group for the next few hours. I'd say fun, over tedious. Nothing about this experience was tedious unless you don't enjoy learning new things. Be open minded and learn from those that work there and do this every day.
The first couple are to learn the system. I didn't think they were tedious as I've never done it before. Overall you don't spend a ton of time actually zip lining. But my whole group loved it
