It's a quiet Florida State Park. There are racoons and squirrels that might pilfer food if left out. You could encounter mosquitoes and snakes so being aware that you are in the woods is always advised. The park has access to a river and estuaries so watching little ones who don't swim is necessary. Safe from people? Generally campers are honest folks and I have never encountered a problem but you have to use your own judgement.

I deem it safe. No matter where you are there’s always a chance of something. But, I feel it’s safe.
