Mobile is an hour away. Its more affordable, has all the amenities of a large city and is near the beach with pleasant weather.
It is a great place to live just not in gulf shores Foley is great and other surrounding areas
Everything is high here. Housing , food , gas alot of retires who are NOT low income live and vacation here.
Very Expensive....
Not a low income place
We love living here. We live iff beaten path and unless we head out 8am or 3pm. Traffic ok. Just stay away from beach roads
Slide east. Perdido, Lillian, etc. Not as "beachy" but water and a more reasonable price tag. Can boat anywhere along there if that's your thing.
The traffic here is horrible. We get out town back from Oct to Feb. The rest of the time it's crowded. Standing in line and waiting at the same red light multiple times in one sitting is how you'll spend most of your time here. Tax is 10% as well. Grocery stores can't hardly meet supply and demand and good luck finding rice or beans. "They" traveled here to build houses.
Not suitable for low income
Buy a camper and electric bike. Then live in the RV park. You will be fine
