No but it was quite smoky during our visit at the end of August, especially in the Humboldt Redwoods.
Their bark is two feet thick which protects them from forest fires
Our coastal redwoods are doing fine. They just got a drink earlier from mother nature. Thank you for your concern
Im no forest ranger, but my takeaway from some of the educational exhibits was that charachteristics of redwood trees retard the spread of fire. When you take a hike through the trails, you will find some scarred and charred trees.
