Another beautiful location Washington is just the most beautiful state we have every season to the Max and they are awesome

Just beautiful! Even the Elk. The road is no joke getting down to the campground. Narrow, wet and dark. Once you get to the campground it opens up, but ominous on the way. Then getting to the fern canyon will require crossing multiple streams. Proceed at your own risk and absolutely zero service on the road.

Drive in to the campground is beautiful going through the forest, but towards the campground serious maintenance needs to be done to repair the ridiculous number of pot holes. Sites are all nice and only a few steps to the beach. Bathrooms are nice and also have showers with hot water. Rained whole time I was there, but can imagine it would be even better with good weather.

We came in October and did not realize that the grass turns into thorny ground in winter. Our tents were covered in thorns and we couldn't touch the ground getting in and out of our tents, lest we get covered in thorns. The winds can get pretty bad here, which is expected at a beach. Just be aware that if you are staying in a tent, you will deal with some serious winds. Sites 25 and 26 are covered from the wind by trees, but beachfront sites are pretty windy. The bathrooms were mostly okay, but one toilet could only be flushed by pulling the lever directly from the water bowl. No campsite attendant and no firewood for sale. I wouldn't stay here again unless I knew I would get a patch of grass.

No trailers and the road to get there doesn't allow vehicle longer than 24 feet or wider than 8 feet. It's clearly stated in their website.
There is water near by. But each site doesn't have it's own connection.
The weather is mostly cool 50s and 60s. A good jacket and a good tent.
Reservation only at reserve california not reserve america
yes we have been camping there for the past five years and never had a problem
Access to the camp ground is limited between dusk and dawn. I know the road has signage saying it is closed at night. I would call the Park office and confirm what they are doing when you are scheduled. When we were there in June it didn't really get dark until 9-9:30.
Back side of the bathroom building
No, but water spigots are around. No electricity either.
We went in November, arrived at about 3 PM and had plenty of spots to choose from.
Simply show up with a smiling face : ) enjoy the elk! And be careful they tend to be a bit aggressive especially in full rut!
Your best bet is to reserve online.
haha no but when you have to pee at 2am the stars are the greatest thing you've ever seen
Any boondicking near by
Yes. Campground is now reservation only all year. You can get lucky and get a spot the same day at the kiosk. Every change to reservation costs 8 dollars.
