I got there as soon as it opened and that was perfect because it wasnt too many cars so you can take your time and enjoy the ride
We went in the morning and found it to be very optimal, we got there about 10am.

You don't want to go during feeding times. I'm not quite sure when those are, however from experience; once the staff has thrown bales of fresh hay out, the animals can't be bothered. Of course they prefer to eat that than the pellets being thrown at them.
