Looking for a light 5th wheel for a 5'6"bed

That's gonna be a tough one Harold. I'm assuming you have a half-ton truck. That being said, if your half-ton is equipped with a heavy duty towing package, you might find something that doesn't overload it. Keep in mind, it's not the total weight you can pull that matters. It's what the carrying capacity of the truck that makes it safe to pull. On your door pilar is a yellow sticker that shows your tire pressures and also shows carrying capacity. Take a look at that and then look for a fifth wheel with pin weight less that that number. Substantially less since the number includes fuel, persons, hitch and so forth in the truck. Add all that to the pin weight of the fifth wheel and then don't forget that the pin weight will get heavier as you add your stuff to the fifth wheel for camping.
