Near the pool has the best views but you need to watch your weather your on top of the hill if there is a storm that comes up. The ones I speak of are too the left of the pool area. Some times you can grab another site if those are full and wait for someone to pack up and leave.
You can't reserve so just show up and pick from what is availiable. Some nice sites in the woods as well as with an gorgeous ocean view!!
Definitely recommend the Bar Harbor campground. It is privately owned and they are very nice. It is the cleanest campground I've ever been to. The bathrooms and showers are well cared for.
Bar Harbor campground is excellent and is pet friendly. There are also many hotels to choose from. It is a tourist town so it is expensive to eat out. The hiking in Acadia National park is also great and lots of other tourist attractins . Get a map and brochures when you get there.
