Its all about the location. Checking in and getting around the park was easy. The sites were nicely spaced. However, bathrooms and showers were old and not cleaned regularly. Tolet paper was all over the floor or no toilet paper, and I hate using the toilet paper on the floor. There were no paper towels in the dispenser and the hand dryer didn't work. We were warned about the rusty water, but it was extremely rusty. Even after running it through a water filter it resembled the color of iced tea. The lanes are very dusty and traffic speed does not seem to be controlled. The campground is over priced for the condition of the facility. If location is most important to you then this place works, otherwise I would not recommend this campground. That being said the free ice cream helped offset a few negatives. 1000 Trails has a gem, but it requires more attention to meet our standards.

This campground is great. We stay here every year. It’s right on the water and only 20 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia. There is very little light pollution so stargazing is great. We will continue to return yearly!

We stayed here in early June, out of season. The staff are really friendly and they keep the campground immaculate. Showers were alway clean, sunsets gorgeous. We saw the resident bald eagle while using the reasonably rented kayaks available at the campground. We biked the country backroads to Acadia’s carriage roads and Bar Harbor everyday. We have old school mountain bikes but lots of people were using ebikes.

I really loved the location and view. Nice service, very clean. They have new spots right now, which was really dusty because of new sand. It was actually nice of them provide us a new spot, but the dust was everywhere, in our clothes, in our RV, I have two dogs, and I needed to wash them every day before going to sleep, because of dust.

Lots of room, beautiful view and great friendly campground
No cable, at the narrows, few tv channels. Dish works depending where you are cause of trees.
Agree with Kimi. You should contact the campground regarding the golf cart. I never saw anyone with one when I was there.
We were there late September last year and was still running
