Indoor gardens a cool, not as much to do, but still fun
Definitely.
It is a wonderful place to go to in the winter though there is not as much activity as in the summer but it is warm and green
Love the tropical part. It is like being in the tropics.
Yes, especially if you go during the Christmas Tree exhibit. Beautiful trees decorated with ornaments depicting yule time celebrations in countries around the world. “Christmas and Holiday Traditions Around the World” exhibition November 20, 2018 – January 6, 2019 Experience the most magical time of year as Meijer Gardens transforms into a world of winter magic with the glow of nearly 400,000 lights, 42 captivating international trees and displays, strolling carolers, Santa visits and more surprises than can fit under the tree. The Railway Garden, a holiday favorite, winds its way through three separate indoor gardens.
I think so! We find something new every time we go and it's relaxing to walk through the atrium. I could sit in there and watch the water for hours if i didn't have kids!
A cool place any time of year. Spring, summer, and fall are the best though.
Winter outside is pretty amazing. They keep the walkways clear and the sculpture garden is a whole new experience with each new season.
Yes there is quite a bit that is inside. In another month they will have butterflies hatching in the tropical conservatory. There is also a Victorian garden, arid (succulents) garden and carnivorous plant house inside. The basement has activities for children all year. I do recommend time in the warmer months to enjoy the sculptures, japanese garden, wege nature trail and a children's garden that are all outdoors. You can go outside to those areas, they are not closed. See my photos for pictures of the gardens.
Depends. Nice walk if a nice day. No crowds. Butterflies next month.
