I don't recall any exceptionally steep areas. Keep in mind, you will be on this road for 30 minutes to an hour each direction depending in which way you come in. It's doable in a car, more comfortable in a truck, and if there had been recent rain, you might want a 4WD.
It's a little rough in some spots for sure. And some of the road is narrow but not all of it. I can make it in my car, but it's not the best choice for vehicle to go there.
It is a rough, gravel road. There are spots that are steep but not too steep for a car. I was able to drive my car in and out with no problems. It is 5 miles of the gravel road though.
Its an easy drive in any car. A few areas it narrowed to a lane & half, had few tight corners of your pulling trailer, & elevation changes no big deal. If you take entrance from 88 vs coming from ATV side or approx 10 miles. You can drive 35-40 mph them allowing when required. I've taken the trek many times in my low VW Sportwagon that was only 4" off ground. It's a breeze in my Subaru Crosstrek. That's several appt along the creek to stop & picnic or porch a tent. There's a small picnic area where u park w restrooms. The walk to the falls is easy. More difficult to get down to the falls & pool of water. Toddlers so fine w assistance but seniors it people w unstable ambulatory have a difficult time. If you use hiking stuck or can't you'll need metal & rubber tips. Metal tops dangerous on Stone surfaces. The trail along Creek is pretty easy w slight grade for first mile. I haven't got farther on that trail. Enjoy, one of my favorite spots here
It's a rough mostly gravel narrow road. 4 wheel drive not necessary. I've seen cars make the trip. Just take it nice and easy.
