The water is insanely clear here due to a variety of different reasons including having sandrock as a river bed instead of sand as well as far away from civilization. We parked in Lot 3 (what our permit was for) and was roughly a 4 mile round trip to the waterfall and back. We went a little off path on the way to the waterfall and the river was just gorgeous, just as much as the waterfall. 100% worth the hike. Highly recommend packing a picnic but dressing for a hike for the way there, there's no real optimal places to change once there (except maybe a small cave that leads no where, which I took a pic for reference but it's within ~50ft of the waterfall) so is recommend wearing swimwear under you're hiking clothes. Came here in late May and the water was fairly chilly but not cold to not swim and dive down from a ledge.

Great place, it may be easy to mess this up if you go through Pine. Be sure to go through Camp Verde and go early. It's an amazing place that to many people know about. At it smart and it will reward you.

Beautiful/ amazing the beauty of this place is unbelievable. Water is crystal clear... beautiful blue water. The waterfall is beyond belief. I love waterfalls..also got to see this beautiful animal not sure what he is. But lots of nature and the falls colors were just so pretty. Defenily recommend this place is you have the time to go. About 1 hr hike back and forth if you park in the last parking lot. They also have bathrooms there. No trash cans so please take your trash with you. Also the road is pretty rough after you exit the freeway will be dirt road. So be prepared for a bumpy ride.

Fossil Creek is a must if you live in AZ. It's beautiful! Now that a permit is required is a lot better. Clean, and parking available for sure. Have to see it for yourself!

Yes, you gotta climb up some rocks and get to the top but yep, you can jump. I didnt myself cuz I had to stay below with my little one but my brother and best friend jumped. I got videos.
