Their hopes change dramatically after the second week of August. By September they are only open on weekends. They depend on college student workers through the summer.

Google refuses to update our hours as the season changes. Early and late season we are only open weekends and we are closed November through April. PLEASE check the website or Facebook for accurate hours before traveling down! Thank you! Five Islands Lobster Co
I cannot explain why it was closed, but I always check for various bits of helpful information on YELP, including hours of operation. It's too bad that it was closed for you because it really is a very good restaurant at reasonable prices. If possible, check out YELP and try the restaurant again.
