I have lived 10 miles from the south unit of the park for 15 years. The horses are in bands all over the park. If you drive slowly through the park in the morning and late afternoon you should see horses. You can follow my fb page at #wildkind_photos on fb. I post pictures of the horses and other animals I see every time I go.
What is the weather like mid may early June is it difficult to get a camp site?
You're most likely to see them in the Southern Unit, near water fairly early or fairly late in the day. You'll see the steer herd and bison nearer the road in the North Unit. Camp you there to get the iconic sunrise shot of the river valley. If you really, REALLY want to see wild horses closeup, go down to Sweetwater County, WY. Drive the Wild Horse Loop on top of White Mountain. Take your binoculars and a telephoto lens - you might catch that spring stallion fights
We see them everytime we go to the South unit.
The wild horses are at the South Unit in Medora.
When my fanily went, we saw wild mustangs. They are jn herds of about half a dozen
We had went at the end of July this year and seen the horses.
We did off site camping. But we saw atleast 12 of them, 4 very close to us.
We have not camped in the park but if you do it is a high possibility!! We normally go the first week of May and see a lot of mustangs, including new foals!
Please check directly eith the park
Most likely
