We spent a week here in May 2022 with our son and his family so we were parked sise by side. Smaller sites, true, but enough room for outdoor, dining and visiting. We were well treated by all the staff and used and enjoyed the laundry and shower, bathroom facilities. All was very clean and well kept although older facilities. Very conveniently located to all the shops and venues. It was a lovely time spent there and we'll do it again and look forward to it. May wait till early June next time.

Truly enjoyed this campground! Location was perfect, the little town of Medora is just a 0.5 mile walk. The entrance to T.Roosevelt NP is less than a mile. It’s an older park. The sites are tight, but you are escorted to your site and guided in if it was a back in site. The restrooms were spotless, the staff were very pleasant and quite helpful.

Beware the mud pit on back corner, street side of the property. The attendants won't look out for you and if it ends up raining, you will walking around a pond. I feel like the property attendants should know better- they know the property and where the wetter sites are. The grounds were nearly empty, yet they stuck us (2 adults. 2 young kids, 1 dog) in the pond. My husband went to complain and was yelled at in return. Other than that, the facilities and amenities are great.

One star may be too many. Please seek out similars reviews on sites like Good Sam camping reviews and/or Campendium & do not rely just on google reviews. I’ll start with the pros: Full hook up sites just minutes to Teddy Roosevelt National park. Cell phone service, average wifi. That’s it. Cons: their website looks great and advertises many amenities. Reality is a dirty outdated & cramped campground, severely outdated facilities, and worst of all, extreme rude staff. There are swarms of flies and yellow jackets. Though you’re allowed a dog, there is no dog park. There’s no smoking signs everywhere (which is wonderful), but staff were smoking directly in front of the office door. The icing on the cake: the awful staff. Upon check in I filled out payment paperwork, and with my receipt was handed a one page list of rules (but was not given time to read nor was instructed to). I proceeded to walk out to our truck, got in and hung the parking pass as instructed, when a woman (Christine) came up on a bike to take us to our site (again, no time to read rules). When we got to our site (a back in) I got out of the truck to assist my husband as I always do (we full time). Christine began aggressively yelling at my husband but I couldn’t hear her over our diesel truck, so I walked over to ask what was wrong. She screamed at me with her finger in my face (this is not an exaggeration unfortunately) “I know exactly what you’re trying to do!!!!” My husband I were both very confused (I had no idea what was wrong) and I asked what was wrong again and why she was being so rude. She screamed at me with her finger in my face that this is her campground and she will guide us into the spot, not me. I apologized, said I had no idea she was planning to guide us, but told her there was no reason to be rude. She again screamed at me, told me to get away from my car and screamed I should have read the rules. (???) I allowed her to finish guiding us in (worth noting: we had no space to open our slide and had to fix the camper after she left), but approached her again to ask why she was being so rude. This awful unpleasant woman was in my face screaming, wagging her finger , that this is her campground, I should have read the rules, had plenty of time to read the rules (no, I didn’t) and that the rules clearly state she backs us in. Then accused us of trying to hit the neighbors truck (why would we try to do that?! It’s so absurd). After she screamed at me for several minutes (& I calmly waited for her to finish) I explained I did not have time to read the rules, I have absolutely no problem being helped into our spot (I’ll gladly sit in the car!), but politely said if it’s that important to them, perhaps it should be mentioned verbally at check-in. She continued screaming at me I should have read the rules, then rode off on her bike like the wicked witch of the west. It was the most bizarre, unstable, and scary experience we’ve ever had. Two separate campers, who had similar awful experiences, approached me after she left to see if I was ok. I was shaking. Please avoid this campground. You’re treated like a problem, not a customer. They don’t want you here, so do them a favor and just don’t. We’ve stayed at over 50 campgrounds and this is the most unsettling experience I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, we’ve paid and they made it clear there will be no refunds. Glad it’s a short stay, will not stay again, and highly recommend you stay elsewhere too.

There are no fire pits. Fire pits and outdoor fires are not allowed.
When arriving check in at the office and someone will help direct you into your assigned spot..its a nice campground.
No they do not have cabins. You could look into Custers Cottage
Actually yes, Red Trail DOES have two shuttle busses, 12 passenger busses and they provide these free to their camoground guests. We stayed there about 6 weeks ago and i asked the owner why they have two vans and she told me its so their guests that have motorhomes or pickup camoers that dont tow a car can enjoy the show. The walk into town is 9nly 2 or 3 blocks but tthe musical is further. Enjoy the show!
There is no additional charge. They provide spot in front of rig for tow vehicle and small car (tow vehicles) are parked along side rid by patio. This is a very nice park with alot of site space for larger RV call ahead and book and advise of length the put us in large space if you just pull in it is first come first serve basis. We call and get 50 amp full sewer water and wifi and cable site.
I believe you can check in at noon.
We stayed there about 2 weeks ago. I too ran into the busy signal and finally after about 8 hours finally got through. This place was well worth the time it took to place the reservation. The owners are super friendly. The setting and scenery are awesome. The small town of Medora is charming. The musical is off the charts cool. It was truly a great package and experience!
Yes, you just need to clean up after them and keep them quiet.
