Following the GPS led to the Big Canoe development in Dawson county. The person working the gate directed us further down the road, where we saw signs for Wildcat Creek. There is a hilly gravel path that leads directly to the campsites, so be sure to take a vehicle suitable for mud and hills.
The confusion is that the USDA forest service has a wildcat creek campground #1 & #2 up near Clayton, GA. This is not those. This is near Dawsonville and is managed by Georgia department of natural resources (DNR) and can be found on their interactive map. https://georgiawildlife.com/dawson-forest-wma
Wildcat Creek Campground's are nowhere near Dawnsonville. The only Wildcat Creek Campground's (1&2) are located outside Clayton GA near Lake Burton.
