The GA Dept of Nat. Resources says the road is impassible without 4 wheel drive. I have gone down that road 3x in a Toyota Prius, in the past. Has anyone gone recently (within last 2 months)? Could you tell me how the road down is?

If you're going down in a Prius, you can probably do it, just be extremely careful. I went down it in a Subaru Crosstrek a few weeks ago and didn't have any issues but I can think of a few potholes that could be hard in a Prius.

I had gotten bad, need a lifted 4WD

It's not bad. A little technical at a couple of points due to pot holes, but I drove it recently in an Infinity SUV with street tires with no problem. It was dry, so YMMV if it's rained recently.

It is very rough, bit short and doable.
