Don't make the mistake of walking all the way around the lake from the parking lot if you walk straight down the road that's blocked off past the guard shack and follow the swimming sign it'll literally take you 10 minutes to get there as it took me 35 when I walked around the whole entire Trail LOL!!! Make sure that you go early to ensure that you get a parking spot in the parking lot to last I almost got a parking ticket parking along the street I was the next car in line but will be able to get to my car and leave before that happened
While the park itself is not yet open, you can walk to the beach. It's a long walk, but not difficult. Make sure you park IN the small lot at the head of the fitness trail (Anderson and Couchville Pk) as you will get a parking ticket if you park on the street.
