Where to begin. There are holes in the walls and broken pieces of drywall around the room. The radiator doesn't turn off or down, so a portable AC unit is required to be right next to it...running in the winter. The bathroom is full of cracked and moldy tile. Nothing is clean or neat. You book for certain beds and don't get them at all. Avoid this place at all costs. Management doesn't even bother responding.

I don’t even know where to begin. We made it work. Went down to Nashville to celebrate a friends engagement and we picked this hotel because it had two bedrooms and two bathrooms for about $15 less a night than two Hilton rooms. I should’ve spent the money. When we first arrived the apartment was way more dingy than the photos online- to the level I will almost say the photos had been photoshopped- and it reminded me of my college apartment. There was tons of cracking paint, hair all over the sink, and the floor was so dusty I didn’t walk around without socks. The cleaning fee was only $25 so I didn’t pitch a fit. Next problem, when we went to take a shower the sinks in the kitchen overflowed with soapy water. Then the kitchen sink leaked constantly. The TV was broken, there was no microwave as was advertised, and we left the hotel for maybe two hours and they changed the code to get into the door for no reason without prompting. There were loose cables with exposed wires so this is not safe for children in any regard. On Saturday, people who resided in the apartments were having a party and there was absolutely no parking, I had to pay $30 to park my car for the night and when I contacted management they essentially told me it wasn’t their problem and gave me a number to call at which point I did and it was a dead line. I’ve had to call management SEVEN times on my vacation and we were only here for three nights! If I were you I would book the quality inn at the end of Broadway- it was way nicer, right next to the action, and it actually looks like the photos. This was a colossal scam in my eyes- don’t get fooled like me.

It was really noisy here. The floors creaked with every step and the street noise was quite prominent. They also had a TV system with three remotes and no instructions for operation, so that was frustrating. Also, no microwave oven. That would have been a nice amenity. Finally, there are no outlets in the bathroom for a hairdryer, though they did provide a hair dryer. The price was good, onsite parking at no charge is a nice perk they provide and the location is convenient to downtown and Vanderbilt Univ.

The pros: The Lee is a charming old building with lovely architectural details. The rooms are nicely decorated and the beds are comfortable. The kitchens are well-stocked. The location is minutes from downtown Nashville (walking distance if you're really feeling it), walking distance to Vanderbilt, and close to so many other sights. The cons: The rooms need a good deep clean. They weren't BAD or to the point you feel uncomfortable, but it looks like quick surface is cleaning is all that happens regularly. If you notice corners, baseboards, blinds, etc. you will see some build-up. Neither pro nor con: The staffing situation can also feel a bit odd if you're used to a hotel (no front desk or staff on site). They were generally quite responsive if you text the phone number provided, but didn't always answer phone calls. They were always kind and willing to help, so it's really not bad. But just think of it like an Airbnb more than a hotel. Also remember that the building is old. There are creaky floors and other quirks. I liked that aspect, but it may not be everyone's cup of tea.
