You don't really need them..but during typical dinner hours.. for special holidays..for large parties..or just to make sure you can enjoy your dinner..and not wait.. I prefer to make a reservation..you can also at that time inquire about any special preparations needed for personal dinners..like kosher, allergies..or wanting to celebrate something or someone special..
