There are 4 lighthouses on a tour going north up the coast starting with Nubble. I came all the way from Missouri, it's well worth the trip.
I drive from FL 2 times a year and never go north without seen Nubble no matter what time of year it is it just giver me peace in my mind like nothing else
If you like lighthouses, of course it's worth it!
There's other things to do. Great beach to enjoy ( clean, family friendly); go to Goldenrod restaurant & watch them make Saltwater TAFFY from scratch to finished/wrapped (yummy to buy, lots of flavors), visit the quaint gift shops; there's a small amusement park & zoo to visit (all this at Short Sands Beach) 💜
I think it's worth it you do other things on the way
You can stop at stonewall kitchens and go to lighthouse then Perkins Cove for a lobster roll awesome views fun drive go for it!
If you stay for a few days and like the beach too. Long Sands Beach is our favorite. We have been to York 4 times and visited the lighthouse each time.
Probably not worth the 4.5 hour drive just to see it unless you plan to go to other places in the area and stay a bit. There are a lot of cute coastal towns to visit north of here.
Yes, most photographed lighthouse in the world
If you may never get back up here I would definitely go.
