A lot of tulips are in bloom and the rhododendrons should be ready about the weekend you are planning on staying. It depends on what you're looking for, you'll be able to see a lot of stuff coming to life and be able to enjoy a scenic view of the Maine coast.
Pretty ones lots of pretty ones
The grounds are set up in a way that you can enjoy gorgeous coastal scenery and sculpted gardens regardless of what is in full bloom. I cant imagine anyone who appreciates gardens, nature, or outdoor scenery going there and having a bad time. I've visited on days ranging from sunny and calm, to sub-freezing with winter weather (for the holidays) and never regretted being there.
I would wait for 2-3 weeks for tulips
I was there few days ago...pretty limited right now...daffodils, hyacinths, a few tulips...couple of weeping cherry trees full of blossoms and buzzing bees. Might be better to wait another 2 months and let summer settle in before making the trip.
