The lupines SHOULD be in bloom then but you'd do well to call the gardens before you come to prevent disappointment.
On a rainy day, if you get one, head up to Rockland to Farnsworth Museum. A day trip to Mohegan Island is great. It's an old artist colony with great views, great hiking, and it's own brew pub. The ride out is worth it. You can catch the boat in Boothbay Harbor. A ride up to Camden is an easy day trip.
Perfect time to visit take a red cloak haunted history tour and get oysters at Glidden point. (Best oysters ever)
Yes, there is plenty to do that highlights the best of the region. Go to Belfast and walk the harbor and foot bridge. Eat at one of the many places in town. The shipping is wonderful too. Be sure to visit Mount Battie, Point Lookout in Northport (the Summit is a must see), and Camden is full of ships and shops. Acadia National Park has drives, hikes and popovers at Jordan Pond. Boothbay area has lots of scenic drives and boat trips. I hope this helps. Enjoy your trip!
