The food there is very moderately priced. You can feed any one well for 10 dollars. Get the entire amusement park experience and leave the cooler at home.
Yes you can bring your own food if you don't want to spend it on the food there. There are picnic tables in between the zoo and amusement rides that are for people who buy their food at the park. Same thing within the park more towards the back. Some of the picnic tables are for those food places only. But honestly I've seen families eating their own lunches on said table and nobody had said anything to them.
We brought a big tub of pesto tortellini and ate it near the goats, no one complained.
I've seen people pack their own lunches and eat them at the amusement park. Personally I just buy the food there- or eat before we go. But I'm sure you can bring a lunch
