We went last week and yes you pay at the ranger stop at parking lot $20 per car. I asked about the state or federal park passes and the lady explained that during this time of the year it doesn't matter as they become a theme park and passes don't count. Not sure if its true just what they told me. Also be are since they only have enough snow for the small kids hills and not food or drink are located their. Large sled hill needs 2 more ft of snow before it opens.
This is a state park, the url on this page is correct and you need a snopark pass to enter by vehicle. You can buy there when they are open either for the day or yearly. You can also get off the mountain at department of licensing. Gas station at the pass used to also sell them.
