The cave has been a tour cave since the 1950's and is very historical to the Lake of the Ozarks and Eldon area. It has been a very well known and active cave since the early 1800's when the Stark family first discovered it. The cave itself has had many owners and has held many names. It is now known as Stark Caverns and previous before that it was called Fantasy Caverns for a short time. The current owners have owned it now for over 2 years and yes it is absolutely a family treat. Great for kids and such an adventure. During the tour you will learn it's history and many other facts along the way.
I want to say its been open for almost 2 years now. Its relatively new to the lake and eldon area. They have done a lot of noticable work to make it more family friendly.. I toured the cave before the new owners
